Jon has been affiliated with Rose City his entire life. He has been employed here for over 45 years. The Ollerenshaw family has been affiliated with the Rose City Cemetery since 1936. His knowledge and history of Portland and the Cemetery prove invaluable insight to helping families make their final arrangements for their loved ones.
Jon also likes cats, and much like a cat, doesn't like having his picture taken.
Jean has been a member of the Rose City team since mid-2021, when she began her career as an apprentice director before eventually becoming a licensed funeral director.
Prior to her move to Portland, she lived in Florida, where she graduated from FGCU with her BA in English and the University of Miami with her MFA in Creative Writing. Before the career shift into the funeral industry, she worked as a freelance technical writer.
Having recently gone through the loss of a loved one, she understands how difficult it can be to make decisions while grieving, especially when making funeral arrangements, and uses her own experiences to help guide families in making informed and sensible choices.
PS: Jean is also totally everyone’s favorite.
Raised in a log cabin in the high desert of Eastern Oregon and transplanted to the Vancouver and Portland area, Edith has called the Pacific Northwest her home for 39 years. Having tended to her own deceased family members, she knows firsthand the importance of the funeral ritual.
When not immersed in a book, Edith enjoys time with her man Tim, and spending as much time as she can outdoors.
She holds a BFA from Northwest College of Art & Design, an AAS in Funeral Service from Mt Hood Community College, and graduated from Vancouver School of the Arts and Academics.
Mike grew up most of his life in Oregon. He studied Mortuary Sciences and General Studies at Mt. Hood Community College. His service to Rose City Cemetery & Funeral Home began in March, 1993 as an apprentice. After serving his apprenticeship and getting his funeral directors license, he left the business in 1996 to pursue other interests.
In November, 2001, Mike returned to Rose City Cemetery & Funeral Home and was hired to work as a cemetery counselor. He has been helping families with their cemetery needs for 15 years.
Anna moved to Portland in 2021. She shifted careers to the funeral industry about a year ago, with the desire to help families during a difficult time. She is excited to be part of the Rose City team and working towards her funeral director’s license.
She enjoys exploring the city, and local climbing areas around Portland. And like many of her fellow coworkers, also likes cats.
Lauren came to Portland 2 years ago to study Embalming and Funeral Service at Mt. Hood Community College. She hopes she can bring peace and comfort to families in need at Rose City Funeral Home.
When not studying, Lauren enjoys crafting, spending time with her friends, and being a couch potato with her pet cat, Harley.
The other real MVP.
